Feedback fails when the receiver feels judged instead of oriented.
The goal is to make the gap visible enough to close. Contempt turns that gap into identity, and then the conversation becomes self-defense.
Good feedback is specific enough to act on and contained enough to survive. "Your update skipped the risk and made the launch look safer than it is" gives a person a place to stand. "You are careless" gives them a fight.
Operator artifact: use a feedback note: behavior observed, standard expected, consequence, one example, next move, follow-up date.
Field test: Anchor feedback in observed behavior and one concrete next move.
This is part 4 of 10 in Conflict Without Damage.
