Correction should protect the work and the person.
Public correction may be necessary when the room is about to act on bad information. Humiliation is rarely necessary. The difference is whether you are restoring accuracy or asserting dominance.
Correct the fact at the level required by the risk. If the room needs the correction, make it brief and specific. If the pattern needs coaching, do it privately when possible.
Operator artifact: use two lanes: public accuracy for immediate risk; private coaching for repeated pattern. Do not mix them unless the risk requires it.
Field test: Correct the fact in public if needed; coach the pattern privately when possible.
