A social awareness audit checks whether the organization can hear itself.
Look for delayed bad news, performative agreement, excluded context, fear around certain leaders, and decisions that reopen after the meeting. Those are sensing failures.
The fix is usually procedural and social: safer first responses, better pre-briefs, clearer decision rights, and room for dissent before the decision hardens.
Operator artifact: audit the last five decisions. For each, record what the room knew, what it avoided, where truth traveled late, and which signal should be captured earlier next time.
Field test: Find one recurring sensing failure and change the meeting design around it.
This is part 10 of 10 in Social Awareness for Operators.
