Timing changes what a message can carry.

The same proposal lands differently after a miss, during layoffs, near a deadline, or after leadership has lost credibility. The content may be correct while the room has no capacity to absorb it.

Social awareness means checking recent emotional history before choosing the moment. Sometimes the right move is to wait. Sometimes it is to pre-brief. Sometimes it is to shrink the ask so the room can take one clean step.

Operator artifact: before a hard ask, note the last miss, current pressure, trust level, decision fatigue, and whether the room needs context before commitment.

Field test: Check the recent emotional history before choosing the moment.
